Lehigh Valley Foundrymen’s Association
“A Night at the Museum”
Thursday, October 6, 2022
LVFA is back for another season! Our kickoff meeting for the 2022-23 year will be a historical adventure on Bethlehem’s South side, starting with a guided walking tour of the Hoover Mason Trestle at the Bethlehem Steel blast furnaces, followed by a visit to the National Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem. Dinner after the tour is at a new venue, Rudy’s Bar & Grill on Bethlehem’s North side. We’ll have an after dinner presentation on the current state and uses of carbon and graphite by Skip Brown & Ryan Weir, Asbury Carbons…while the buzz in Europe is “Decarbonise”, they can’t spell it, and we can’t do it, as we are all composed of 18% carbon!
Who Should Attend? Management and Production personnel, Metallurgists, Melting and Maintenance, Safety, Environmental and Compliance Personnel, anyone interested in history, and anyone who’s composed of 18% carbon. Bring a spouse, friend and your kids for this one.
